Our Company currently has approximately 70 girls on our roll but we would like to see more.

Each night we do Bible Study then do our badge work. This varies from handcrafts, cooking, community service, practising for competitions, aerobics, drill and loads more.

We always make time each night for playing games or if the older girls prefer just having some fellowship and getting to know each other. During the year we take part in some competitions – choral speaking and marching, over the last few years we have came first or second in each event.

We finish our year with our annual display and prize giving where we get the opportunity to show parents what we have been doing all year. After this each section goes on their outing which is a reward for all the girls hard work during the year.

The Aim: To help girls to become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, and through self-control, reverence and a sense of responsibility, to find true enrichment of life.

Motto: ‘Seek, Serve and Follow Christ’

Principles:

The Brigade acknowledges Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord according to the Scriptures and seeks to fulfil its aim to the Glory of One God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Brigade witnesses to the standard set by Jesus Christ and gives positive teaching on the Christian attitude to life.

The Brigade promotes a just society where all people are equally valued.

The Girls’ Brigade is a Christian youth organisation for girls of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. We offer a programme of fun activities designed to educate, challenge and inspire young people in an environment of Christian teaching.

Our programme is based on providing opportunities for children and young people to develop to their full potential. There are 4 sides to our programme reflecting the spiritual, physical, educational and social elements of life.

SPIRITUAL

Understanding the basics of Christian faith and coming to a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, growing in the relationship and coming to understand God’s will for life.

PHYSICAL

Learning how to care for oneself and participate in physical activities.

EDUCATIONAL

Increasing knowledge and understanding – developing new skills which will equip girls for adult life.

SERVICE

Learning to relate to others and to work as part of a team. Showing care and compassion to others – in the home, community and Church.

All age groups are given the opportunity to achieve goals and growth in each of the four aspects of the programme each year, as well as earning awards.
